Mine Site Driver Training

The Light Vehicle Simulator is an essential tool designed to train mining drivers on how to drive safely on a mine site and respond to emergency situations. Built on a 4WD vehicle, the simulator is designed to operate as either a right or left-hand drive. The light vehicle simulator comes with fully operational manual automatic/transmission and actual vehicle controls. The simulator incorporates highly realistic mine sites with dynamic environments of a mine site including day and night operations and driving in rain or dust. The light vehicle simulator allows accurate screening, training and up-skilling of operators in a safe environment.

TecknoSIM Light Vehicle Simulators are delivered with a highly realistic, virtual mine sites, complete with artificially intelligent equipment such as haul trucks, shovels, excavators, loaders and light vehicles to support the driver training and evaluation process. Real-time weather like rain, snow, fog, dust and daylight conditions add to the realism. Artificially intelligent traffic in the virtual mine site helps operator practice in normal and risky conditions. Customized mine sites can be developed for clients which simulate actual mine sites of clients including roads, pits, crusher sites , parking areas and other details

Training Modules

Training Modules

Light vehicle simulator has progressive training modules to suit for new and experienced drivers. Special modules are available to train drivers on mine site familiarisation, blind spot training, night time driving, driving in difficult weather conditions. Customized training modules are developed as per client requirement as well as in multiple languages.

Testing and Evaluation

The drivers are automatically evaluated in real time by the simulator on their driving skills, violations, defensive situation and driving behavior. The simulator generates a detailed driving evaluation report for each driver at the end of the scenario. The record and replay feature allows the instructor to replay the scenario and train the drivers on their mistakes.

Instructor Software

The instructor software is designed to enable the instructor to register each driver and plan his training. The software allows the instructor to set different driving situations, inject faults like a tire blowout, worker crossing, dust and other distractions. The real-time view of the driver screen and advanced reporting system gives full control to the instructor to make his training productive.

Group Training

Multiple simulators are interconnected to a single instructor to allow for training operators in a group. This allows a single trainer to manage multiple simulators simultaneously. It’s a cost-effective method for training a large number of operators at the same time through a single instructor.

Driving Station

Driving cab of a TecknoSIM Light Vehicle simulator is based on a standard vehicle with a seat and vehicle controls as seen in the actual vehicle. The seat is surrounded by fully functional controls including steering wheel, pedals, gears, instrument cluster and switches. The Driving Cab consists of a soft instrument panel that mimics real controls and instruments. The simulator can be configured to any OEM console and accommodate multiple vehicle types in the same hardware with convertible kits.

Display System

The visual system with high definition graphics is a key component of the training simulator. A properly designed visual system increases the level of realism and immerses the operators in real world mining environments. The display system of mining simulators are available in multiple options of single screen display of 32″, three 32″ screen display, Curved screens with multiple projectors for a seamless 180-degree display. Additional screens are provided for blind spot and rear view while operating with other machines.

Motion System

Motion System

TecknSIM Mining Simulators offer an integrated motion system based on electric actuators that makes it compact and low on maintenance. The motion system provides accurate feedback required for a realistic operating experience on a mine site. It is programmed to provide cues and feedback with sensations of steering, acceleration, braking, turning, jerks, gradients, tires and soil interaction. Motion systems are available in options of three degrees of motion (3DOF) and six degrees of freedom (6DOF) Motion Platforms.

Convertible Kits

The Light Vehicle Simulator is compatible with convertible kits. Convertible kits are interchangeable equipment kits that fit onto base simulator platforms allowing the customer to use a range of different equipments on the same simulator. Convertible kit change on the simulator takes about 15-20 minutes.
