As electric buses enter more city and intercity fleets, operators need drivers who are prepared for how these vehicles handle on the road. EKA Mobility has added a dedicated resource for this: a cabin-based, high-fidelity EV bus simulator from Tecknotrove, delivered for the training and testing of its drivers.
The simulator pairs a physical driver cabin with a motion platform. Drivers practise in a realistic driving environment, and the added movement makes training more immersive. A single installation covers EKA Mobility’s 7, 9 and 12 metre electric bus variants, so the team can train and test drivers across all three vehicle categories without separate setups.
Drivers use the simulator to familiarise themselves with operating an electric bus and to practise driving tasks before taking the wheel. Trainers can watch how drivers respond in the simulated environment, pick out areas that need more attention, and turn that into focused feedback. This links practice and assessment within one training process.
