TVS Apache Motorbike simulator improves road safety

With 35 million vehicles on road , India-based e-bike manufacturer TVS Motor is set to embark on the journey for rider safety . In an innovative driving safety plan ,TVS Motors appointed Tecknotrove Systems – a simulation specialist based in India to develop an advanced VR motorbike simulator customised to TVS Apache motorbikes .

This will be India’s first VR Motorcycle Simulator for TVS Motors. The motorcycle simulator will be an exact replica of the TVS Apache motorbike with the updated instrument cluster as seen in Apache 160 R motorbikes . The simulator will use the real motorcycle controls from TVS and accurate rider ergonomics that will provide a realistic feel to the rider . Simulated 5-speed manual gearbox will allow the rider to experience and learn the skills of safe riding on a variety of terrains and weather conditions.

The visuals will be seen on the latest Virtual Reality (VR) Headset -VR. A comprehensive training program designed for the simulator, will focus on training the TVS motorcycle riders on vehicle controls and safe driving skills . Special programs are designed for training motorcycle riders on Hazard Perception , Defensive driving and Risk Awareness . The virtual test track will allow to test the riders skill on parking, turning , riding on an incline . The training modules also include driving training on Urban , Hill and highway with vocal instructions in regional Indian languages including Tamil, Telugu & Kannada .

TVS motors intends to use the simulator to train Apache users and TVS employees on defensive driving skills , economic driving, vehicle prevention and maintenance.
