TotalEnergies India an oil major company, continues its efforts to be recognized as a benchmark for safety standards in the industry. With this vision in mind and with safety as their core value, TotalEnergies set up a centre of excellence in training heavy vehicle drivers with TecknoSIM Truck Simulator.
TotalEnergies India with its implementing partner, Sambhav Foundation, has set up a Centre of Excellence (CoE) at Bhiwandi, Maharashtra to train Heavy Commercial Vehicle (HCV) drivers on Defensive Driving Skills and Road Safety.
TotalEnergies Centre of Excellence is a state-of-the-art training centre, set up with the purpose of imparting knowledge to all the participants to achieve excellence in the field of Road Safety. The state of the art centre is spread across 3400 sq. feet with a dedicated classroom for theoretical training and a separate simulator room for practical training,Theory sessions aim to train drivers on key aspects of the vehicle such as the importance of seat belts, driving techniques to build defensive driving skills as well as key measures to take to avoid accidents. Further, the practical sessions make use of a state-of-the-art simulator. The simulator sessions aim to equip drivers with key skills required for defensive driving on difficult terrains and weather conditions as well as identify and correct mistakes while driving in a safe and controlled environment.
In its first year, the centre aims to impart a Comprehensive Road Safety Training Program with theoretical and practical training to 1800 truck drivers. The centre will help its drivers to gain technical skills that will allow the company to achieve higher safety and productivity.
